2017 Touching the hem of His Garment

Fyi, you might find this a little personal so skip this if you like. And you might wonder why I am putting this on my 'food' page, but you will understand when you have finished reading this.

For over 10 years, I have been dealing with overly heavy menstrual periods. I stopped offering to give blood donations as I was turned away several times, due to being 'anemic.' I declined taking iron supplements because they were so constipating. I went to several doctors, even 'Women To Women', but it wasn't until last September that I discovered how low my stored iron levels were.

My new doctor checked my ferritin levels, stored iron levels, which was 3. Normal levels are between 70-100. This explained why even though I was eating healthy, my nails were not growing and my hair was falling out in handfuls.

My doctor put me on a high iron regiment with magnesium to combat constipation. It made a HUGE difference. My nails started growing again. My problem with hair falling out lessened. I noticed I was more energized and my concentration was better.

But the periods were ridiculous and would set me back! In February, I noticed I could feel a large mound in my lower belly. A cat scan showed a 14" tumor. I was advised to get a hysterectomy.  I was devastated. Many of my friends and family prayed for me. I did a ton of research.

According to hersfoundation.org a hysterectomy should be your last resort for a myriad of reasons. I also learned these fibroid tumors were very common with women, much more than I would have guessed. I stumbled upon one Indian woman's website on which she claimed to have shrunk her fibroid tumor by juicing with beets, turmeric and ginger. So I started juicing more with these added ingredients and this is why I am writing this on my food page. I am also hoping to prompt any women in similar circumstances to consider juicing with beets, turmeric and ginger and last but not least, send up much prayer to the Great I Am.

I got a surgeon's second opinion. This surgeon told me that he had many women come to him with much larger tumors than mine and that if I was near menopause, I might consider waiting and putting off surgery since it was so terrifying to me. He said fibroid tumors stop growing after menopause and even shrink.

So, I have waited. It has been a couple months and would you believe, I've had a breakthrough?!? I can't yet say for sure if I have been healed by the Lord, and if the prayers of my my friends and family have brought on a miracle from God, but in the past six weeks, the mound has almost completely gone down!!! And maybe I am in menopause, as I haven't had a period. But for now I am just so thankful to my Lord Jesus!!!

My new juicer... :D

You can even juice pumpkins! Watermelons are the best though!

And I love the juices, you can make all different kinds. SO healthy!
